Layouts for custom local theme

Hi Vuepress Community,
I'm currently trying to build a simple website with Vuepress and a custom local theme.
Currently it seems like my theme gets recognized, but layouts won't get registered.

In the theme I define each template individual (currently only the necessary ones):

  name: "vuepress-theme-foo",
  layouts: {
    Layout: path.resolve(__dirname, "./layouts/Layout.vue"),
    404: path.resolve(__dirname, "./layouts/404.vue"),
  },
};

But after running it in dev mode the output in layoutComponents.js stays empty:

import { defineAsyncComponent } from 'vue'

export const layoutComponents = {
}

I uploaded a simple version of the problem into this repo.

Can someone pinpoint me to the mistake I am making or is it possibly a bug?

module.export -> module.exports
