Too big padding for :c:expr inline reference

I noticed a big left padding for the following snippet:

.. c:type:: my_type

This works :c:type:`my_type`, but I would like to point
to a pointer of the type (:c:expr:`my_type *`).

which renders to:

while other templates render it as:

alabaster
