The click event isn't raised until mouseup.
Trap click started on mousedown rather than click.

@chrismccord any update on this or is there anything I can do to help? It is annoying users because our application has several use cases where people are drag selecting text from inputs inside modals and it turns out most people just swipe dramatically when trying to select all text and 90% of the time they are releasing the mouse button outside of the modal which results in the modal being canceled. |
