🐛 Use http client from leaderElectionConfig #2464

Conversation

During creation of the manager, the default cluster.HTTPClient is being used during leader election causing cert issues and not responding to events because of the conflict of the kubeconfig it uses for the manager. It never uses the kubeconfig from the leaderElectionConfig when being set.

This PR sets that value and creates a httpClient from the restConfig passed in on the options.LeaderElectionConfig

  • Use the http client from the leaderElectionConfig from options in manager

Resolves #2454

Hi @troy0820. Thanks for your PR.

I'm waiting for a kubernetes-sigs member to verify that this patch is reasonable to test. If it is, they should reply with /ok-to-test on its own line. Until that is done, I will not automatically test new commits in this PR, but the usual testing commands by org members will still work. Regular contributors should join the org to skip this step.

Once the patch is verified, the new status will be reflected by the ok-to-test label.

I understand the commands that are listed here.
