Given that the "volume" discretization might describe a surface.

Along with the "vol" argument to as_dofdesc.

Is there some language in geometric algebra or exterior calculus that we can borrow for this? Mostly just a thought, since nothing comes to mind..

Or just DD_BASE to match the DISCR_TAG_BASE?
