I'm writing some documentation where we support distributions of Linux. There are some elements of the document that are not distribution specific, but where we describe generic Linux support.

When clicking on these tabs, it would be great if Arch Linux and Ubuntu/Debian were secretly tied to Linux somehow, without effecting the displayed group name. This way, if someone clicks Ubuntu/Debian or Arch Linux, it would be grouped to generic Linux. I do understand how conflicts could arise, but I'm just here to suggest the idea.

Of course Arch Linux and Ubuntu/Debian are both Linux, and I want it to be possible to link them to the generic Linux docs, since they are related, but as you can see they are not grouped in the gif below, and it would not be possible for me to do so currently I believe.

Thanks a lot for this great project :)

A simple way to solve this would be to have it so that the displayed name is not the same as the group name. This way, I could solve this particular case by naming it "Ubuntu/Debian" meanwhile grouping it as "Linux".

It would certainly be possibly to allow an alternative group name, though what would be the expected action if Linux was clicked in the second set of tabs here? As I think the current JS would try to "activate" both tabs in the first set with a matching group name

Oddly, I've found that this plugin implements everything exactly as I have described. https://sphinxcontrib-platformpicker.readthedocs.io/en/stable/usage.html
