Who are we building this for?

Few Qiskit enthusiasts have reached out to volunteer to translate the Qiskit Documentation to Urdu any right to left language scripts.

“Wants to”

The current documentation theme - Qiskit sphinx theme doesn't support RTL languages.

“So that”:

The team can focus better in translating and increasing the reach of Qiskit among the community speaking languages that use right to left scripts.

See these relevant issues:

It looks like some people have gotten Sphinx working with RTL languages, but it's not very well supported and will require some custom CSS and work. That will add a lot of complexity to the overall codebase, which slows down other efforts.

I think it may be worth pursuing this project in the future. But I'd recommend closely considering the specific use case, such as what language we plan to add, how sustainable we expect the translations for it to be, and how likely it is those language speakers could instead fallback to another language like English.

I'm going to close this as being unlikely to get to, given how big of a project it is and that it mostly involves changing Furo itself. If someone is interested, we'd still love to see this! The best approach is to implement pradyunsg/furo#73.
